"Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young. Be an example to all believers, in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith and your purity."1 Timothy 4:12

Forest School

What is Forest School?

Forest School's holistic approach encourages children to learn in a natural environment which is not only inspiring but also very calming.  It will nurture their self esteem whilst also teaching resilience and risk taking. It enhances the children’s communication skills and ability to work as a team.   Forest school will equip children with a love and respect for the outdoors.  Through attending regular sessions at Forest school, children's self confidence and resilience is boosted, therefore creating happy, healthy motivated learners.

In this technology dominated age children are sadly losing touch with nature and it is a harrowing fact that children are now spending less time outside being active in nature.  A Forest school would therefore help reconnect the children with nature and be more active both in body and mind.

Forest School will provide an added 'action-packed' spice to the curriculum we offer at school.  It will provide real life opportunities and create independent learners.

Trained Forest School Teacher

Forest School teachers have to undergo training to a high standard over the course of 12 months and are accredited as Forest School Leaders.  Mrs Marples is our Level 3 Forest School teacher at St Mary’s school.

Every day is an adventure.

Forest School sessions are wild adventures that give children the opportunity to use age appropriate tools, toast marshmallows on an open fire, build dens, plant seeds, hunt for bugs and care not only for each other but the natural world around them.

Your child’s Forest School adventure awaits...
